Experienced housing developer, Vistry Group proposes to seek full planning permission for the creation of 35 high quality homes at the site indicated on the plan below. The site sits between two parcels of land already being constructed to the immediate south and north and is allocated for new housing in Eastleigh Borough Council’s emerging local plan. The northern site is also being developed by Vistry Group and the southern site is being developed by Bargate Homes.

The proposals include 35 high quality homes, including 35% affordable housing, and the provision of open space designated for ecological benefits; providing net biodiversity gains as well as an attractive street frontage for future residents to enjoy. A pedestrian link proposed adjacent to this space, connects the site to the already developed land to the north and wider surrounding areas. Subject to Highway Authority and Eastleigh Borough Council’s agreement, the proposals will utilise the existing vehicular access off Allington Lane to avoid additional traffic through Limewood Grange, the phase 2 development to the north, or the Bargate scheme to the south.
The design and layout of the new homes has been inspired by the local area and informed by comments received during the development of the surrounding sites, to create an attractive environment for future residents. A mix of 2, 3 and 4 bed homes, including a proportion of affordable homes are provided to meet the local needs as well as responding positively to the surrounding locality of the area through the careful consideration of architectural form, scale, character and materials.
The proposals therefore include a number of important benefits, including:
- New homes, including a high proportion of affordable homes, to meet the acute need for new housing
- Attractive, high quality landscaped development
- Biodiversity net gain and ecological benefits
The proposals for the site’s development have also considered technical matters, such as drainage, ecology, trees and parking, and these have informed the design and layout of the site.
The full package of detailed plans and technical documents will be submitted formally to Eastleigh Borough Council shortly and at this point all documents should be made available for public viewing on the Council’s website. Eastleigh Borough Council will then formally consult the local community on our planning application which will provide you with an opportunity to give formal comments and feedback. Vistry Group look forward to receiving feedback on the proposals at that stage and will carefully consider any comments received during this process. However, ahead of the application submission we wanted to inform you of the application proposed on the site. Please do get in touch if you have any initial queries.
Please feel free to circulate a link to this page to any others you think may be interested to know about the proposals.
